Terms

What you are buying, what happens to the money, and the handful of things that will get a listing removed.
What this is
replacebid sells advertising space: squares on a 50×50 grid, one grid per category. A square you hold displays your logo and links to the address you gave, until somebody buys it from you.
You are buying display space, not an asset. A square is not property, not an investment, and carries no guarantee of traffic, attention or any other result.
No account
There is nothing to sign up for. A purchase is tied to the payment and the email you give at checkout, not to a profile. That email is how we reach you about the order, and the only thing that identifies it.
Price
A square nobody has bought costs $1. Each time one changes hands its price multiplies by 1.5×, rounded up. The price shown when you select a square is the price you pay. Connected blocks are discounted per the rules. At most 400 squares per order.
Prices are quoted in the currency shown at checkout. Your bank may apply its own conversion or fees, which are not ours.
No refund when you are outbid
When somebody buys a square from you, the money you paid is not returned. You paid to be displayed for the period you were displayed. This is the central term of the sale — if you are not comfortable with it, do not buy.
One refund exists and is not part of the game: if your payment confirms after a square has already gone to someone else, that square's share is returned to your card. We do not keep money for space we could not give you.
What you may not put on the board
Sexual or adult content, links to it, or anything redirecting to it. Illegal content or anything promoting illegal activity. Malware, phishing, or deceptive links. Content infringing somebody else's trade mark or copyright. Impersonation of a person or company you do not represent.
Submissions are screened automatically before payment, and screening is not a guarantee: passing it is not permission. We may remove a listing at any time if it breaches this section.
Removal
A listing removed under section 05 is not refunded, and its squares return to sale. Without that, removal would cost the person who broke the rules nothing, and the rule would not be a rule.
The removed listing's domain is blocked from being submitted again. We keep a record of what was submitted, when, and from which address, for handling disputes and for legal claims.
Links out
Every block links to an address its buyer chose. We do not control, endorse or check the contents of those sites beyond the screening described above, and we are not responsible for them. Follow them at your own judgement.
Payment
Payment is taken by our payment provider on their own page. Card details are never entered on this site and we never see them. The provider's own terms apply to the payment itself.
Starting a checkout holds your squares for 20 minutes so nobody can buy them mid-payment. Abandon it and they go back on sale.
Reservations, while nothing is for sale
The board is not selling yet. A reservation costs nothing, charges nothing, and is not a contract of sale — it is a request to be told first. If the board opens, whoever reserved a block gets a period to claim it before the squares go back to everyone.
We may clear reservations at any time, and we may decide never to open the board at all.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost revenue, lost opportunity, or the performance of an ad. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us for the squares in question.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did. Changes are not applied retroactively to a purchase already made.
